Shoreline Restoration Project
In 2008 we authorized a $200 matching grant to anyone who would restore their shoreline to a naturally vegetated area utilizing native plants. A property owner on the north end of Little Boy (Kirk and Deb Dodds) took us up on our offer. Here are some pictures from the project.
Before the project began (2008): And when the plants were first planted (2008):
At the end of the first year (2008):
Second year (2009):
Third year (2010):
Quite a difference! !
These native plants will help filter any run-off into the lake and will help with erosion control because of their deep root growths.
Congratulations to Kirk and Deb for a job well done and for preserving their lakeshore for future generations! ! Thank you! !
